Arno Ernest Krumbiegel, age 83, of Villanova, PA, passed away on July 12, 2026. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Arno Ernest and Olga (nee Engelbrecht) Krumbiegel.
A man of remarkable character and warmth, Arno’s life journey was marked by achievement, generosity, and a steadfast commitment to those he loved.
Arno’s early years were defined by his pursuit of knowledge and excellence at Drexel University, where he distinguished himself both academically and athletically. As a proud player on the university’s soccer and lacrosse teams, and a spirited member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, Arno’s college experience was a tapestry of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and intellectual curiosity—a foundation that would come to define his future endeavors.
With an ever-determined spirit, Arno honorably answered the call to serve in the US Army. His service was a reflection of his integrity, discipline, and deep sense of duty, qualities that would permeate every aspect of his wide-ranging career. Embarking on a lengthy and successful professional path, Arno achieved distinction as an executive in the banking industry. His astute leadership and unwavering commitment set a standard of excellence admired by colleagues and competitors alike.
Yet, it was in his roles beyond the office that Arno’s true passions flourished. A culinary enthusiast with an adventurous palate, he delighted in the joy of creating and sharing meals, transforming kitchens into bustling centers of laughter and togetherness. An avid sports fan, Arno found endless fascination and excitement in the world of athletics—a passion rooted in his collegiate days and carried through every season, every game, every victory and defeat.
Above all, Arno treasured the moments spent with family. To him, the greatest joys were not tied to accolades or professional triumphs, but rather to the simple, profound pleasure of being surrounded by those he loved. Family gatherings, whether grand or intimate, were imbued with Arno’s signature warmth and good humor, turning ordinary occasions into cherished traditions.
Arno was the beloved husband of H. Frances Krumbiegel (nee McLaughlin); loving father of Peter Krumbiegel, Jonathan Krumbiegel, and Ann Busker (nee Krumbiegel); adoring grandfather of Xochitl Krumbiegel, Annika Krumbiegel, and Heidi Busker; caring brother of Ruth Poli.
