Arlene J. Coverdale

On Friday, May 23, 2025, Arlene J. (Palladino) Coverdale of Drexel Hill, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Arlene was born November 6, 1945, in Philadelphia, PA and is survived by her son Christopher Coverdale (Grisette) and daughter Danielle Basciano (Dominick) and her grandchildren Elena & Christopher Coverdale, Ava & Dominick Basciano, Charles Evans (Valerie) Austin, and Chris Evans. Great grandchildren Beau & Duke Evans.

In addition, she is survived by her brother John Palladino (Marie) and her nieces Andrea (Mike) Wheatley, Lisa (Kevin) Furness, Marisa (Steve) Barke, four great nieces and two great nephews and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Rose (nee Faccenda) Palladino, Stepdaughter Noel (Byron) Evans.

Arlene was a graduate of St. Leonard’s Academy, Philadelphia PA and pursued a career in the Insurance Industry beginning with Metropolitan Life Insurance and retiring from Prudential Financial, Willow Grove, PA in 2010.

Arlene took enormous pride in her family cherishing time spent together and was steadfast in her loyalty to her faith, family, and friends. She was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles and enjoyed all genres of music. Arlene had an infectious laugh and a compassionate spirit. Her favorite quote: “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away" epitomizes the value she placed on every moment she was blessed to share with those she loved.

Relatives and friends are invited to Arlene’s Celebration of Life 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM, Saturday, May 31st, 2025, at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA, with her Eulogy to begin at 11:30AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Jude’s Children Hospital as a place close to her heart.
