Arlene Cavacini

d. April 7, 2016

Arlene R. (nee Formosa), age 70, on April 7, 2016 of Upper Darby, PA.

Arlene was the beloved wife of Vincent Cavacini; the dear Mother of Melissa A. Weaver (Lawrence), Adoring Grandmother of Faith and Nicholas; also survived by her brother Frank J. Formosa (Mary); she was predeceased by her mother Antoinette (nee Inverso) and her fathers Frank Formosa and Nicandro Antonelli.

Arlene loved and cherished her family, most of all her grandchildren were her heart. She always said that she had two hearts one was Faith and the other was Nicholas. We will all miss many thing about her especially her crabs and spaghetti dinners, her generosity, and the way she always put others needs before hers. She had the best sense of humor and one liners that were a little on the PG13/R side. She was a true South Philly girl. If fact, her son-in-law would use the phrase... Rough Tough Cream Puff to describe this special lady. If you knew Arlene, there were two things she wanted to make sure of... that you were okay and if you were hungry there was a spot for you at her table.

Her husband's love was true from the day they meet. He showed up at her home on his friend's motorcycle at 2AM to have a cup of coffee with hope of capturing her heart. Good thing he was allowed back after the early morning wake up and the oil trail the bike left on her mom's newly paved side walk. If you knew South Philly, the front of your property always had to be spic and span. A great story was formed and lasted 47 wonderful years. They had tons of laughs and he knew the phrase "Yes, Honey!!" very well. Their union blessed them with one daughter. Melissa was the apple of her eye until her grandchildren were born. The relationship between Arlene and Melissa was the most loving that any child could ever ask for. They were not only mother and daughter, they were best friends. Arlene tried to teach Melissa to cook. It was a huge feet and some what successful. But...Melissa, Larry and the kids spent many, many meals at mom's house. If you ask Melissa it was because they enjoyed being with her and dad.

She was blessed with a large, loving family which included her spunky and loving mother, her kind and loving step dad, special and smart older brother, her in-laws that were NEVER out-laws, and cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. At family gatherings, you would be pulled to her because she had a loud, funny and joyous personality. You would know when she entered the room. She could make everyone one around her laugh, even when you did not want to. Her personality and her smile were unforgettable.

Her partner in crime and her longest and dearest friend of 57 years, Marie, will truly miss all their laugh, joys, tears, and Entenmann's cakes. Their friendship was admirable. They knew each other so well that they finished each others words and that does include some bad ones. They survived the nuns of Goretti together, meet their spouses together, raised their children together and helped and supported each other during the most difficult times of their lives.

Arlene was also blessed to have a few more special friendships through her life. She truly loved and cared for her friends like they were family.

One last thing that we will never forget about Arlene is her love of animals. Over the years she had many 4 legged children. She spoiled them rotten. They had special meals prepared by her along with tons of treats. Murray, Dutchess, Sable, Lily, Lizzy and Buddy have been reunited with her. As for Angel, her newest addition, she will be here to keep us company.

We would like to invite all her relatives and friends to the celebration of her life. Her arrangements are as follows...
