Ardelle K. Smith

Ardelle K Smith (née Kashkashian), 69, of Garnet Valley, PA passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on June 22, 2022.

Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1953, she was the daughter of the late Arsen Sr. and Katherine (nee Magiaracina) Kashkashian.

Ardelle was the beloved wife of J. Kevin Smith; loving mother of Katherine (Kate) and fiancé John Myrga; devoted grandmother of Austen, Nolan, Parker, Colin and Hayes; dear sister of Ronald (Marie), the late Arsen Jr. (Donna), the late Nicholas (late Jane) and the late John.

Ardelle enjoyed sharing her summer home in Ocean City, MD with family & friends, European River Cruises, get-a-ways to Florida & the Caribbean and of course, shopping with her daughter and her friends.  Ardelle loved hosting holiday gatherings and spending time with Brandywine Valley Quilting Club making blankets for family & friends.  Last but not least, Sou Boreg, a true labor of love, the Armenian comfort food, was one of Ardelle’s favorite dishes to make for her family. Ardelle graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a BS in Elem. ED. with specialty studies in Early Childhood Education.   A solid foundation for her second love of life “The Children’s Corner Learning Center” in Havertown, PA which she owned and operated for over 14 years. There she was a mentor and boss to dozens of teachers who would quickly become her family, whom she loved like they were her own daughters. 

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation, Saturday, July 9^th from 9:30AM to 11:30AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382 followed by her Prayer Service. Interment is at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
