Anthony J. “Tony” Rowley, of Drexel Hill, PA, a dedicated and esteemed member of his community and veteran firefighter, sadly passed on December 20, 2025, at the age of 58.
Born in Darby, PA, he was the son of the late Bart J. Jr. and Mary (née Munley) Rowley.
With an esteemed career as a veteran firefighter with the Lansdowne Fire Company since 1988, Anthony exemplified bravery and devotion to the safety and well-being of his community. In addition to his firefighting duties, he served as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Paramedic, consistently demonstrating his expertise and compassion in the field of Emergency Medical Services. His commitment to training the next generation of first responders was evident as he became a Medical Trainer Instructor, sharing his knowledge and skills with others.
Tony held several leadership roles throughout his career, including serving as Vice President of the Fire Company and Ambulance Lieutenant, showcasing his dedication to ensuring the well-functioning of his team. He was also a valued member of the Air Patrol, participating in vital operations that further distinguished his contributions. Notably, he demonstrated a profound commitment to humanitarian efforts, serving with Team Rubicon on a Disaster Relief mission in Haiti, where he spent two weeks training paramedics, further solidifying his role as a leader and protector of lives.
His service to his country extended beyond his work with the fire and emergency services, as he proudly served in the US Military, an experience that added another layer of depth to his character and commitment to service.
Tony Rowley is remembered not only for his professional achievements but also for his kindness and dedication to helping others. He leaves behind a legacy of service that will inspire future generations.
Tony was the beloved husband of Anne M. (née Wooters) Rowley; the loving father of Meghan J. Rowley; and the dear brother of Bart J. Rowley III, Mary Beth Kinnon, and the late Margaret A. Rowley. He is also survived by his countless brothers and sisters of the firefighting community, his many friends, and acquaintances.
Family, friends, colleagues, and the community are invited to gather to honor and pay their respects to Tony on Sunday evening, January 4, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and again on Monday morning, January 5, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Donohue Funeral Home located at 8401 W. Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082. Interment thereafter at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. A Celebration of Life Gathering will take place at a later, yet to be determined date.
