Ann Louise Hughlett

Ann L. Hughlett, age 72, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025, in Havertown, Pennsylvania.

Born in Philadelphia, Ann was the daughter of the late Leon F. and Mary L. (Best) Wood. She was the sister of the late William (surv. Hazel) Wood and the late Robert (surv. Ilse) Wood. Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Charles “Chuck” A. Hughlett. Ann is survived by her many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.

Ann graduated from Liberty High School in Tioga County, PA, and at age 26, Ann moved to California, where she met Chuck. The two married on July 31, 1979, and later returned to Pennsylvania to be closer to her family.

Ann spent many years working in the administrative offices of Lynnewood Gardens, Elkins Park and Sugartown Mews, Devon, PA. There, she built lasting connections with colleagues, admired for her sweet yet assertive nature. Even after retiring, she remained active, working at Kohl’s Department Store in Havertown, where she formed meaningful friendships that brought her joy and fulfillment.

Beyond her career, Ann had many passions. She enjoyed needlework, putting together puzzles, collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia, and traveling with Chuck, especially to the mountains. She was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan, always cheering on her favorite teams. Ann also had a deep love for animals, especially cats, who brought her great comfort and joy throughout her life.

In her later years, Ann cherished time spent connecting with her family and friends. She was especially known for her incredible chocolate chip cookies, a treat that brought smiles to those lucky enough to enjoy them.

Her kindness, dedication, and warmth touched many lives, leaving behind cherished memories for all who knew her.

Ann’s kindness and love for her family and friends touched all who knew her. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit and the impact she made will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. She will truly be missed.
