Ann B. Hickey

Ann B. Hickey, 92, of Glen Mills, PA, passed away August 23, 2022.

Born December 2, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late George and Minnie (nee Miller) Burns.

Ann attended schools in southwest Philadelphia, graduating from Bartram High School, where she met the love of her life, George.  In high school, Ann was captain of the swim team as well as class officer. Both Ann and George were involved in Bartram alumni association, developing lifelong friendships.  

Her childhood summers were spent at the shore in Cape May, and her love for the beach was passed on to her children and grandchildren. While raising her four children in Havertown, Ann worked as a bookkeeper with family always her priority.  Eating dinner as a family was a daily occurrence. With their children grown, Ann and George spent time traveling throughout the country and Europe.  Although they loved visiting new places and meeting new friends, Ann was happiest when she was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Ann was the beloved wife of the late George Thomas Hickey; loving mother of Tom Hickey (Lynn), Ann Conley, George Hickey (Patti), and Bob Hickey (Cindy); and adoring mom-mom of 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her brother, George Burns.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass 10:30 AM, Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 430 Valleybrook Rd.,  Glen Mills, PA 19342, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.
