Anita Harper

Anita “Chickie” Harper (nee Hamson), age 94, of Denver, CO, passed away on September 19, 2021.   Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Anita Hamson.

Anita was an accomplished pianist, playing both classic and popular compositions.  She loved cats and had several throughout her life in Denver.

Anita enjoyed knitting sweaters for her family.  She was an avid reader on many topics, from biographies to American antiques.  In her childhood, Anita learned to be a good pinochle player.  She passed this love onto her children, particularly in the summers spent on the New Jersey seashore.  She relished the time she spent with her family on the seashore.   Her children loved these summers with Anita and their grandparents.

Anita was predeceased by her husband, John Harper.   She is survived by her children John R., Deidre, Deborah and Kevin, her three grandchildren, John, Daniel and Tim Vedra and her four great-grandchildren Luke, Jake, Owen and Madeline Vedra.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Graveside Service Friday, October 1, 2021 10:00 AM at Holy Cross Cemetery, 626 Baily Road, Yeadon, PA.
