Amelia A. Maxwell

Amelia A. Maxwell (nee Archer), 78, of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on October 8, 2025.

Born in Darby, PA in 1947, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Dorothea (nee Suessenguth) Archer. Amelia was very creative and could often be found crafting or sewing. She also enjoyed swimming and listening to music. Amelia was great with computers and all technology. She was always there for her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored. Amelia was an animal lover and had a fondness for otters.

Amelia was the beloved wife of the late James R. Maxwell; loving mother of Dorothea J. “Dottie” Dever (David), Susan A. Maxwell, and James R. Maxwell, Jr. (Tracy); adoring grandmother of Jason, Aidan, Olivia, Katelyn, and Timmy; caring sister of George Archer (the late Lorraine), and the late Arthur Archer (the late Wilma).

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 11:00 AM-1:00 PM Saturday, November 1, 2025 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, 610-353-6300. Interment private.
