Ameer Wadeea Alkassir

Ameer Alkassir, 73 years old, of Havertown, PA, passed away on July 21, 2023. 

Ameer was born on May 21, 1950 to Wadeea and Kameel Kassir in Baghdad, Iraq. After graduating high school and attending college, he served his country for several years. In the early 90’s, he moved with his family to Pennsylvania to have the opportunity to begin a new life. During his career, he had many entrepreneurial endeavors and spent years as a carpenter. Ameer also had an appreciation for antiques, numismatics and classical music. 

Ameer is survived by his five children; Ghasak Rocco (Anthony), Ghasan, Kameel, Marwan and Wadeea Alkassir, his brother, Nabeel Alkassir; his three grandchildren, his many nieces and nephews, and the mother of his children, Lourd Alkassir. Ameer was predeceased by his sibilings, Layla, Thrayya, Tariq, Najat, and Sameer.

A Funeral Mass will be held in his honor to memorialize his life with his family and friends, on Friday, July 28, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. Sharbel Maronite Church, 3679 Providence Road, Newtown Square, PA  19073.  Family and friends are invited to his Viewing, from 9:30 to 11:00 AM prior to his Funeral Service. Interment SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.  All are invited to join the family at Teca Restaurant, Newtown Square, PA at 1:30 PM, following interment.
