Agnes E. Schopf

June 28, 1936 — February 4, 2026

Havertown

Agnes E. ”Aggie” Schopf, of Havertown, PA, sadly passed away on February 4, 2026, at the age of 89.

Aggie was born in Philadelphia to James T. Parsons and Margaret A Parsons (née Loughrey).

Shortly after she was born, the family relocated to East Lansdowne where Mom made several lifelong friends (Helen Anne, Dolly & Connie). Mom attended St. Cyrils Grade School and Notre Dame High School (Moylan). Aggie met her husband, Bud, in 1953 and they married in 1955. They moved to Upper Darby in 1960 and stayed there until 2000. Together they raised 2 sons, Chuck & Tom, in the Bywood section of Upper Darby. In 2000, they relocated to Havertown where she resided until her death.

Aggie was extremely proud of her family. She loved her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She would always inquire about each of her grandchildren to find out how they were doing and what they were up to. Aggie was always willing to share her thoughts with you on any number of subjects and she enjoyed spirited conversations!

Aggie was an avid reader, reading as many as 4 to 5 books a week, as well as newspapers and magazines. She loved watching cooking shows and trying new recipes. When you asked Aggie what she had for dinner, not only would she tell you what she had, but she would tell you how it was made and the ingredients that were used to make it!

If Aggie learned that someone was sick, she would add them to her prayer list and send them a get well card.

She had an amazing memory, not only could she recall a special event, but she could also tell you what the weather was that day!

Throughout her life, she had at least one cat but most times she had 2 cats that she loved and cared for.

The family would like to thank Mom's neighbors, Jim & Karen, for always checking up on her to see if she was OK and to find out if she needed anything.

The family would also like to thank our cousin Pat, Mom's “younger” sister, for her undying love and support!

Aggie was the beloved wife of the late Nevin “Bud” Schopf; the loving mother of Chuck Schopf (Diane) and Tom Schopf. She was the devoted grandmother of Kristin (Carl), Danielle (Christian), Kevin, Stephen (Talene), Matthew, Jason, and Justin. She was the caring great-grandmother of Landon, Peyton, Addison, Maryjane, Savannah, and Shea. Aggie is also survived by her many friends and church family. Aggie is predeceased by her sister, Mary Frances Carr.

Family and friends are invited to honor Aggie’s life at a Visitation on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, 9:30 to 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 105 Wilson Avenue, Havertown, PA 19083, followed by her Funeral Mass commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment thereafter at Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Aggie’s memory would be appreciated to the Brandywine Valley SPCA, https://bvspca.org/.
