Phyllis Miller

Phyllis Miller, 97, of Reading, PA, passed away on January 10, 2022.

Born in Chester, PA in 1924, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Richard and Phoebe (nee Clegg) Wakefield. She grew up in Aldan, PA and was very active in the community. In the early 60’s, Phyllis was on the Sharon Hill Fourth of July committee and was the prime soloist at Tully Presbyterian Church. She lived in Darby, PA for 30+ years and had many wonderful friends and neighbors there. Phyllis was a den mother for the Cub Scouts for over 20 years and enjoyed seeing the Scouts through the years. She worked at the Darby Library for many years and was a mentor to the kids after school with arts and crafts.

Phyllis was the loving mother of Richard Surran (Susan); caring grandmother of Don Surran; adoring Meemaw to her great-granddaughter, Kayla, of whom she was very fond.
