Madeline Ford-Newcomer, 95, of Glen Mills, PA passed away on November 24, 2021.
Born in 1926 in Brooklyn, NY Madeline was the daughter of the late William and Clara Doody and wife of the late Thomas Ford and then the late Harry Newcomer.
Madeline was a US Nurse Cadet Corp member towards the end of World War II, attended nursing school in Philadelphia and became a Registered Nurse. She worked as a nurse until she retired in both the private and public sector. She met her first husband, the late Thomas Ford, in Philadelphia and they married April 29th, 1950. They had three children Thomas, Kathy and Colleen. While raising three children, she continued her education achieving a Masters of Education from West Chester University. For the last 20 years of her career, she was a school nurse in the Upper Darby School District in Delaware County, PA.
She was an avid reader and was always very active in numerous groups and organizations throughout her life, especially during her retirement years while residing within the Maris Grove Community in Glen Mills, PA.
From her first marriage, she is survived by her children, Thomas and his wife Elda, Kathy and her husband John Yanoshak, and grandchildren, Erica, Bianca (Noah), and Natasha and great granddaughter, Ava Kelso, Colleen and her husband Daniel Fledderman, and grandchildren, Joseph, Amy (deceased), Renee (Fledderman) Hammoud, Olivia, and Olya.
A few years after her first husband passed in 1988, she married the late Harry Newcomer (2009). They stayed very active and enjoyed square dancing, card games, mahjongg and traveling throughout the world.
From her second marriage, she is survived by Harry’s daughter, Connie Natale and her husband Ted, grandchildren, Nick Natale, Lauren and her husband, Tim D’Orazio and great grandchildren, Aubrey, Carly & TJ.
Services and internment will be private.
