1930-2019 Catherine Montgomery, 89, former resident of Springfield, PA died April 30, 2019.
Born in County Donegal, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late James and Winnie (Logue) Gallagher.
Catherine first arrived in Philadelphia in 1955. She worked in the Philadelphia Archbishop's residence and as a waitress in a dining club where her favorite regular customer was Eugene Ormandy, famed conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra. She married Robert Montgomery in 1963 after a 15 year courtship; they remained married for 52 years until Bob's death in 2016.
Catherine was predeceased by her spouse Robert, brothers Patrick, Daniel, and James, and sisters Sarah, Bridget, and Cecilia. She is survived by her children Mary, Liam (Colleen), Kevin (Marco Angelucci), and Eamonn Montgomery (Andy Cohen), and granddaughters Shannon and Brenna Montgomery and Vivian Montgomery.
