James J. “Jim” Brennan, age 92, of West Chester, PA, formerly of Secane, PA, passed away on November 29, 2019. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late John E. and Margaret M. (nee White) Brennan.
Jim graduated from West Catholic High School. Jim was a Veteran of the United States Army where he proudly served his Country. Jim worked in sales for most of his career and then went on to start his own business, Brennan Sign Company in Glenolden, PA.
He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, and University of Penn football. He enjoyed the mountains, especially Lake Naomi, and Atlantic City where he enjoyed playing poker. He loved Breyer’s ice cream and listening to music. Jim loved spending time with his family and friends.
Jim was the beloved husband of the late Eleanor Brennan (nee McCoach); loving father of Kathleen Gummel (the late Thomas), Christine Genther, Marian Manahan (Michael), Eleanor Dougherty (Bernard), and Nancy Grogan (Thomas); adoring grandfather of 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; caring brother of Bernard Brennan (Barbara), Joseph Brennan, and Margaret O’Dell, the late John Brennan, and the late Thomas Brennan.
Relatives and Friends are invited to his Visitation Wednesday, December 4, 2019 6:00-8:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073 and Thursday, December 5, 2019 9:30-10:15 AM at Nativity BVM Church, 30 E. Franklin St., Media, PA 19063, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Internment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
