Shirley Kille

February 20, 1932 — September 15, 2021

Shirley A. Kille (nee Finch), age 89, of Stone Harbor, New Jersey went Home to God peacefully on September 15, 2021. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the only child of her devoted mother, Sylvia (Cleary Finch Hearl) and her remarkable step-father, Russell Hearl, both predeceased. Shirley was full of funny stories about growing up under the care of her parents, her wonderful grandmothers, an Irish grandfather equally fond of fun and story-telling, two loving uncles, and later their children, her dear cousins.

Shirley was married to her beloved husband, George E. Kille, for just short of 70 years. George went Home to God in 2019; she missed him terribly, but bravely pressed on in faith that God would bring them back together again. While Shirley’s family is grieving, they rejoice to think of the happy reunion of their parents, in Christ. Shirley is survived by her three loving daughters Elizabeth A. Guzze (Larry), Nancy E. Hartsock (Bruce) and Barbara A. Kenna (Joseph). She will always bring a smile to the hearts and faces of her 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter. George and Shirley lived a simple, but deliriously happy life together in their little house on Weber Court in Stone Harbor, where
they created a real neighborhood. They were absolutely devoted to their family, to God, and to their country.

Shirley also made many friends over the years, working part time in retail at J.C. Penney’s in Upper Darby, PA, at Eckert’s Pharmacy in Cape May Court House, and at the church Thrift Shop at the First United Methodist Church in Cape May Court House, where George and Shirley worshipped, and were active for many years.

Many people will miss Shirley’s tender, kind heart, her quick humor and imagination, her hysterical stories and laughter, and her faithful encouraging friendship.
