Mary Leonard

Our Mother Mary T. Leonard (née Patterson) of Secane passed away into eternal life on May 10th after 87 wonderful years. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband of 35 years David Leonard, who she met at The Bamboo while he was drumming, and her daughter Jean Marie.

Mary is survived by her three children Marypat McNicholas (Jim), Bernadette Milligan (Kevin) and David Leonard (Jane). Proud Grandmother aka “Mommom” to 7 wonderful grandchildren… Ashley, Alexandra and Connor McNicholas, Kevin and Keri Milligan, and Shannon and Kelsey Leonard. Mary also enjoyed being a Great-Grandmother to Maeve Rooney Drews, and loved her fur baby “Joyful Joy.”

Mary was the second oldest of six children to John J. Patterson and Mary Bridget (née McGoldrick). Mary was predeceased by her brothers, John, Eddie, Jim and sister, Kathleen McElwee – and survived by her sister Susan Glackin. She grew up in Lansdowne and graduated from Lansdowne High School

Mary was a true Irish woman – a devoted Christian and member of St. Eugene Church, fiercely loyal to her friends and family, and honest to a fault. She was incredibly kind and taught us all how to stand up for the things we love. Mary enjoyed her backyard pool and was happiest down the shore in Avalon. She also loved trips to Walt Disney World with her grandchildren, rooting for the Phillies, and the sweetest desserts you could find.

Mary will surely be missed by many. May she Rest In Eternal Peace.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Monday, May 17, 2021  9:30-10:20 AM at St. Eugene Church, 200 S. Oak Avenue, Primos, PA and to her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM.  Interment will be private.

Masks are to be worn when visiting the family and the Funeral Mass.   Social distancing is to be observed.
