Leo Somma

Leo M. Somma, 86, of Nottingham, PA, passed away on August 8, 2020.

Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1933, he was the son of the late Mario and Mary Rose (nee Bonaparte) Somma. Leo worked at the Navy Yard where he started as a welder and retired as a bookkeeper after 35 years. He enjoyed watching old movies and sports, bowling, and coaching at the Highland Park Kirklyn Athletic Association. Leo was a lector and a Eucharistic Minister at St. Laurence Church and later Sacred Heart Church, Oxford, PA. He was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Malvern Retreat House, and St. Thomas More Alumni Association.

Leo was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (nee Kelly) Somma; loving father of Michael Somma (Michele), Patricia Moore (Keith), Stephen Somma, and Matthew Somma (Kellyann Adams); predeceased by his siblings, Ed Somma, Eugene Somma, and Florence Nibbio; also survived by 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 9:30-10:20 AM Saturday, August 15, 2020 at St. Laurence Church, 8245 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
