Gertrude E. Young, 82, of Royersford, PA, passed away on January 13, 2022.

Born in Philadelphia in 1939, Gertrude was the daughter of the late Earl and Gertrude (née Carr) Young.

She grew up in Wayne, PA where her love of animals, from Chihuahuas to Great Danes to horses began.  Gertrude was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Cabrini College, Class of 1963, and her Master of Education Degree from Pennsylvania State University, Class of 1968, with advanced study in education of exceptional children.  She spent her career as a teacher with her focus on students with developmental difficulties.

Gertrude loved to travel and learn about other cultures. With her parents, Gertrude enjoyed the Devon Horse Show for many years. She was also a fan of Broadway shows and movies. Gertrude was a long-time supporter of the Francisvale Home for Smaller Animals.
