Dawn Nee-Marley

September 22, 1970 — July 24, 2021

Dawn Marie Nee-Marley, age 50, of Springfield, PA, formerly of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on July 24, 2021 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle against cancer.  Born in Darby, PA, she was the daughter of John Nee (Judy) and Carol Villbrandt (Howard) (nee Brownstein).

Dawn was a 1988 graduate of Archbishop Prendergast High School in Drexel Hill, PA.

Dawn opened her home for over thirty years and was devoted to the caring and nurturing of many, many children, all of whom delighted in their time with her.

Dawn was a beloved mother and so proud of her children’s accomplishments. Whether it was Matthew excelling at Boeing, Megan working on her teaching degree at Cabrini, and Patrick’s Marley and Clark Landscaping Company, Dawn was always there to validate their diligence.

Dawn’s unwavering love was evident in the relationship with her husband, Patrick. They had a mutual respect and understanding of each other that few can attain.

Dawn loved simple pleasures and, most notably, watching Patrick’s baseball skills when he played for the Archbishop Carroll Patriots, and relaxing at the Jersey shore surrounded by the people she cared for and cherished.

Dawn’s kindness and empathy to everyone she met garnished an innumerable amount of true friendships, and everyone became a better person simply by knowing Dawn.  Friends and family referred to her as the essence of humility, compassion, and radiance.  She could light up a room with her infectious smile and warmth.  Those she leaves behind have one wish…“if only there were more time.”

Dawn’s warrior spirit, stoicism, and bravery throughout her illness is a true testament of her parents’ love for her and the love she gifted to her husband and children.

In addition to her parents, Dawn is survived by her beloved husband, Patrick S. Marley, Sr., her loving children Matthew D. Marley, Megan Rose Marley and Patrick S. Marley, Jr.   Sister of John Nee (Kathy).  Also survived her niece and nephew Sarah and Brendan, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Thursday, July 29, 2021 5:00-9:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike (cor. Lynn Blvd.), Upper Darby, PA (610) 449-0300 and Friday, July 30, 2021 10:00-11:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 136 Saxer Avenue, Springfield, PA and to her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.  Interment will be private.
